How do laser vein treatments work – The laser will precisely target the vein that you want to get rid of and the body will absorb it.

It is likely that you will wear safety glasses to protect your eyes during spider veins treatment.
The number of treatments that you will require can vary and depends on the number, colour and size of the vessels being treated. This will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation.

What happens during your treatment – At MP Skin Aesthetics we work hard to ensure you have all the information you need to help you make a decision and feel comfortable with your individual treatment plan. Your Clinician will discuss with you your goals and assess your treatment needs.
This process enables your clinician to tailor the treatment to your specific skin condition needs and target the areas for treatment.
Laser Vein Treatment Procedure:
Step 1: Skin Consultation – We will discuss your concerns and explain the treatment process and aftercare. During the consultation your Clinician will recommend and discuss any products you may need to use prior to your procedure, to ensure your skin is well prepped to reduce risks and to ensure optimal results from your treatment.
Step 2: Skin Preparation – Your skin is thoroughly cleansed. You will experience a warming flicking sensation as the laser passes over the treatment area. Most patients experience minimal discomfort, sometimes described as if a rubber band is being lightly flicked onto the skin.
Step 3: Aftercare – After your treatment a thin layer of cooling serum is applied to the skin. There will likely be some redness and mild swelling, slight darkening of pigmentation in the skin following a treatment. Mineral make up can be applied to the skin when the heat has resolved.
Detailed aftercare will be advised at the time of the consultation as it will be tailored to your skin type.

The facial redness and spider veins laser treatment does not hurt patients and it is tolerated well.
Generally, there is a warming sensation on the skin from the laser. Some patients describe spider veins treatment as causing a sensation like a rubber band being snapped against the skin.
It is normal for the skin or vein to appear slightly discoloured after spider veins or redness laser treatment. But, this bruising will fade after a few days and should not cause any concerns. The area that has been treated may feel slightly tender, as if it had been sunburnt.
Any sensitivity and redness will resolve by itself after a few days of having the procedure.
There is minimal downtime associated with spider veins or redness laser treatments.
A lot of patients do not take time off work for this procedure nor do they change their schedule. You are free to return to your daily activities straight away without any restrictions.
Laser Treatment Potential Side Effects – You may experience a small change in the pigment of your skin post-treatment this will go away in time. Your skin may be red and itchy immediately after your session, applying a cold pack should help to reduce any mild pain symptoms.
Any of these symptoms can occur shortly after your Laser Treatment; if you require urgent attention by a medical practitioner to reduce the risk of death or long-term complications.
