Workshops will be designed to be practical and interactive, with an emphasis on techniques, decision-making and real-world clinical scenarios.
GPs and GP registrars who are interested in gaining further insight into the assessment and management of skin cancer are welcome to register their interest in a clinical observership at MP Skin Check.
Observerships provide an opportunity to see skin cancer consultations and procedures in a real clinical setting and gain insight into how lesions are assessed, investigated and managed.
Observerships are informal and are subject to patient consent, clinic availability and appropriate clinical circumstances. They are intended to complement existing GP training and provide practical exposure to the day-to-day management of skin cancer.
Supporting improved skin cancer care in general practice
Skin cancer is frequently encountered in general practice, and having confidence in:
- Assessing suspicious lesions
- Selecting appropriate investigations and;
- Understanding when referral is appropriate
These skills can potentially make a valuable difference to early skin cancer diagnosis, treatment and patient care.
MP Skin Education aims to create opportunities for GPs and GP registrars to learn from clinical experience, discuss challenging cases and develop practical skills in a supportive environment.
